UrbanLink Orders 20 Eviation Alice Aircraft

Expands Fleet Of All-Electric Aircraft

UrbanLink Air Mobility, based in South Florida, announced it will purchase 10 of Eviation’s Alice aircraft, a zero-emission, 9-passenger commuter aircraft, with the option to purchase 10 additional aircraft. The Alice will enable commuter flights up to 250 nautical miles nonstop.

Programs Provide Same Curriculum And Advanced Tech

The FAA announced that graduates of two college air traffic control programs may bypass the training academy typically required to be sufficiently trained as a controller. The FAA has been struggling with a shortage of air traffic controllers for some years, causing flight delays and controller burnout. Many controllers have been forced to work mandatory six-day weeks with overtime and the resulting controller fatigue has been a factor in numerous runway incursions and other incidents.

Toyota Announces $500 Million Joby Investment

Aids Certification and Production of Joby’s Electric Air Taxi

Toyota Motor Corporation has confirmed plans to invest an additional $500 million in Joby Aviation to aid in the certification and production of electric air taxis. The payment will be split in half, with the first made later this year and the second sometime in 2025. Toyota owns 10% of the company’s shares, making it the largest external Joby shareholder and second largest general shareholder.
