ACJ Expects the Sector to Contribute $33 Billion More Within Five Years

A recent study led by Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) revealed that the US business aviation (BA) industry is expected to generate $182.8 billion by 2029. This is almost $33 billion more than the current economic contribution of $150 billion. The US is home to over 5,000 public airfields, though less than 500 support commercial airline operations. This makes business aviation a necessary service for connecting passengers nationwide, and its role is only expected to continue growing.

Drone Maker Given ‘No Alternative’ After Being Added to US CMIC List

DJI Technologies recently opened a lawsuit against the US Department of Defense (DoD). The drone maker states that it was given ‘no alternative’ after the US added it to the Chinese Military-Industrial Complex (CMIC) companies list. The China-based technology company controls around 90% of the public drone market.

West Star Aviation Performs Flight Deck Upgrade

PS Engineering announced on October 23 at NBAA-BACE 2024 that its PAC45J Digital Audio Management System has been installed in a Dassault Falcon 2000 aircraft in combination with Universal Avionics InSight flight deck. West Star Aviation performed the cockpit update with the PAC45J Audio System which included three CTL45J control heads and a remote-mounted hub HUB45A digital audio router. The system provides the pilot, copilot, and a third observer position with independent transmit and receive capability.

SDs Being Retired Due To Components No Longer Available

Duncan Aviation says its technicians are ready to begin upgrading the Securaplane SD cameras in Gulfstream G350, G450, G500, and G550 aircraft. The SD cameras are being retired by Securaplanes parent company, Meggitt Technologies, because the components are no longer available.

Waiver Permits Nighttime and BVLOS First Responder Missions

The FAA recently issued a unique waiver for the Campbell Police Department regarding its Drone as First Responder (DFR) operations. Officers will now be able to deploy their drone fleet beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) at all hours of the day. The Campbell Police Department opened its DFR program in 2022 and began working with a visual observer under a daytime-only waiver for BVLOS flights. It has now replaced a human observer with Axon and Dedrone’s DedroneBeyond technology.

Daher Aircraft’s exhibit at the 2024 NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas, Navada, will feature its TBM 960 and Kodiak 900 aircraft, along with the company’s latest product and service enhancements. The company also delivered a significant amount of relief supplies to the area, as did several other private TBM and Kodiak owners/operators deployed their own aircraft to airlift food, water, and other supplies, along with transporting emergency personnel and animals.

On June 30, 2024, about 1752 central daylight time (CDT), a Waco YKC airplane, N14137, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Selden, Kansas. The pilot and pilot-rated passenger sustained fatal injuries. Aero Linx: Lake Amphibian Club Our Lake club has always been a “type” club catering to owners and “wannabe” Lake owners. The original club was formed in 1988 and has been administered until 2015 by two husband and wife teams, Bill and Louise Goddard, and then Marc and Jill Rodstein. In 2016, the Lake Amphibian Club was restructured as a 501(c)7 charitable organization, registered in the State of Massachusetts, and run by a board of directors sharing the many tasks necessary to keep the Club running.
