Flight testing of the new Van’s Aircraft RV-15 engineering prototype is underway, and despite a few setbacks, the process is in full swing. The company is currently working on a few tweaks to enhance both aerodynamics and usability. EASA Advises All Airlines To Avoid Israeli and Lebanese Airspace

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised all European commercial airlines to avoid the airspace over Israel and Lebanon. The airlines have responded by grounding dozens of flights, leaving thousands of travelers stranded abroad and thousands unable to leave Israel. The advisories are expected to remain in effect until at least the end of October.

National Guard Extracts More Than 50 People Trapped By Flooding

Three UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters of the Tennessee National Guard helped rescue more than 50 patients and staff stranded at Unicoi County Hospital by severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Within an hour of being notified of the situation by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Guardsmen with the 1-230th Assault Helicopter Battalion in Knoxville assembled the helos and crew for aerial rescue operations.

Falcon 9 Grounded Because Second Stage Missed Ocean Target Zone

FAA Confirms Action Pending Investigation

The FAA confirmed its grounding of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, pending an investigation into why the rocket’s second stage missed its deorbit landing target following the Crew-9 launch from Cape Canaveral. For its part, SpaceX announced it is halting launches in a social media post but the FAA did not confirm the grounding until a couple days later.

Spectrum Aeromed Completes Installation Of LOX System Under STC

First Application In Life Flight Network PC-12 Elevates Patient Care

Life Flight Network, in collaboration with Spectrum Aeromed, announced the installation of a liquid oxygen system (LOX) in a new Life Flight Network Pilatus PC-12 aircraft to be used for patient transport. The project is the first of its kind for this oxygen configuration under a Supplemental Type Certification approved by the FAA for Spectrum Aeromed’s modification of this aircraft. The first LOX-capable PC-12 was delivered on September 27.

Elixir Lands Contract For 5 Aircraft For European Training Providers

Deal Involves Purchase By Rental Company Green Aerolease

Elixir Aircraft announced it has entered into a three-way deal with training center Leading Edge Aviation and Green Aerolease, a French aircraft rental company. The deal provides for Green Aerolease to purchase five Elixir aircraft and in turn, rent them to Leading Edge in an arrangement that includes the aircraft, insurance, and maintenance.

The Wreckage Was Located At The Base Of An Approximate 100 Ft Tall Tree

On September 6, 2024, about 1259 Pacific daylight time, a Boeing A75L3, N53466, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Yacolt, Washington. The pilot was seriously injured, and the passenger was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The accident airplane was part of a group of three airplanes traveling together. The flight of three departed Ed Carlson Memorial Field/South Lewis County Airport (TDO), Toledo, Washington, with an intended destination of Ken Jernstedt Airfield (4S2), Hood River, Oregon, and maintained loose trail with one another.
