The Cornwall Council—the governing body of England’s Cornwall County and steward of the Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY) upon which the CAHC’s museum has operated since 2015—has set forth that subject museum must vacate its current premises immediately. The FAA has unveiled a new program for the use of off-the-shelf parts in type-certificated aircraft. The approval is the first granted under the new Vintage Aircraft Replacement and Modification Article (VARMA)

The dispute’s resolution affords Bell opportunity to get the program—worth a potential $7-billion—underway.
In a recent Community Advisory, the FAA’s Airman Testing division disclosed it has been working in cooperation with its testing vendor, PSI Services, to scientifically assess existing FAA Airman Knowledge Tests. Assessments of the Private Pilot Airplane and Commercial Pilot Airplane Knowledge Tests have been completed; the results of subject assessments are scheduled to be implemented on 24 April 2023.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has recently conducted live, tactical, air combat maneuvers utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) pilots to control a company-owned MQ-20 Avenger Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Collaborative maneuvers between human and AI pilots were conducted using General Atomics’s Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) ecosystem over a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication (SATCOM) provider’s Internet Protocol (IP)-based Mission Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) datalink.

On 06 October 2020, at approximately 15:83 PDT, a Rans S-7, registration N55893, stalled shortly after departing a three-thousand-foot grass runway near Spirit Lake, Idaho—a resort town approximately 27-nautical-miles northeast of Spokane, Washington’s Spokane International Airport (GEG). The accident claimed the life of the airplane’s 52-year-old Commercial pilot; injured the aircraft’s 57-year-old Airline Transport Pilot rated passenger; and substantially damaged the 2008-vintage Rans S-7.

We have more than 1034 members that own a total of 821 Cessna 170s. “Preserving and promoting a truly classic aircraft” takes time, talent, and resources. Takeoff Hold Lights (THL)
The THL system is composed of in-pavement lighting in a double, longitudinal row of lights aligned either side of the runway centerline. The lights are focused toward the arrival end of the runway at the “line up and wait” point, and they extend for 1,500 feet in front of the holding aircraft. Illuminated red lights indicate to an aircraft in position for takeoff or rolling that it is unsafe to takeoff because the runway is occupied or about to be occupied by an aircraft or vehicle.

All they had to do was let us stay where we are for another 8 to 12 months. But no, they won’t even let us relocate in realistic fashion, they would rather see this one-of-a-kind, award-winning business disappear. It’s utterly disgraceful.”
