To those ends, King School has announced the introduction of two new initiatives: the Flight Instructor Program, designed to allow instructors to track their students’ progress through King Schools courses; and Your First Flying Lesson, a recruitment inducement of sorts by which CFIs can foster the enthusiasm of individuals with nascent interests in learning to fly.

FAA Agrees to Terms to Monitor & Evaluate Balloon Ops in Class C
The FAA will ultimately not require GPS equipment for balloons operating at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Balloon Fiesta, putting to rest an issue that's been on the table for months. The agreement reached between local balloon operators and the FAA has resulted in a letter of agreement to operate in Class C airspace, even when not equipped with GPS transponder tech. The demand has been a tough sell for local operators, who often balked at the big-ticket purchase of retrofitting each aircraft.

Two bills currently before the Washington State Legislature, if adopted, stand to make the Evergreen State among the most competitive places in the world to produce and utilize SAF. Senate Bill 5447 seeks to establish a combination of tax incentives and clean-fuel standards for SAF production. Additionally, House Bill 1216 seeks to facilitate the siting of SAF or other clean energy facilities in regions around the state.

Their appearance at AirVenture was a special treat, and that’s what this video is all about. All-Airbus Fleet Begins Transition to Next-Gen Neo
A member of the Cathay Pacific Group, HK Express, has kickstarted its A321neo fleet with its first of 16 aircraft. The purple and white livery of HK Express are a common sight throughout the region, as the operator takes their fleet of Airbus aircraft throughout the Pacific. Currently, they maintain 27 A320 series aircraft in all, with an even spread between A320neos, A321ceos, and A320ceo.
Group Focuses on FAA Reauthorization Bill for Industry Goals
The NBAA's Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Roundtable turned 2 years old last month, marking off its second anniversary among a fast-growing market. The group says its AAM Roundtable provides "a forum for high-level policy planning with sector leaders to chart a course for the integration of AAM technologies into the nation’s airspace and infrastructure".
The E.U.’s Fit for 55 legislation sets an initial goal of reducing European CO2 emissions by 55-percent in 2030—compared to 1990 levels. The initiative comprises bloc-level obligations to scale-up the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) by all flights departing European airports. European airlines fear the imminent loss of revenues, passengers, or both to rival air-carriers based outside the E.U., the whole of which are legally entitled to ignore the Fit for 55 legislation, which is broadly disparaged as a preliminary step toward the E.U. central government’s long-term goal of European carbon neutrality by 2050.
Airline-Operated Training Academy Finally Settles on Twin
United's in-house training initiative to foster the next generation of airline pilots from 'zero to hero' has been without a dedicated twin-engine trainer since opening last year. Since their start, United had been operating 25 SR-series TRAC20 aircraft from Cirrus as they worked their first classes of students from no-time through their CFI and commercial ratings. Now, however, it seems the school is looking to expand once again.
