EAA Sends its B-25 to Join B-29 for Joint Exhibit Through Florida, Louisiana

The History Restored Tour will see the combination of 2 classic bombers, with the addition of the EAA's B-25, Berlin Express, alongside their B-29 Doc. The aircraft will make a series of stops in Florida and Louisiana throughout the spring as they kick off the 2022 tour seasons for both historic aircraft. The tour will make an appearance at the Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo at Lakeland, Florida  in April, along with opportunities for ride-alongs and flights at other events for their passage in the area.

A longstanding operator at New York's JFK International and LaGuardia Airports has finished its tenure after its FBO assets and operations have been acquired by Modern Aviation. Modern is a national network of FBO properties, on the rise as the company generally looks to acquire and develop operations in growth markets to expand their base. Sample Mission Will Launch Earthbound Samples from Martian Surface to Spacecraft Above

Lockheed is the lucky winner of the contract to design, develop, and produce the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), which will be a key part of the Mars Sample Return mission currently in the works with NASA and the EASA. The mission hopes to deliver rock and soil samples collected on the Martian surface back to Earth, a tall order that requires a complex series of spacecraft and landers. Under the contract, Lockheed will provide multiple MAV test units with a prototype flight unit. Their purview includes designing, developing, testing, and evaluating the integrated MAV system, and designing and developing of the rocket’s ground support equipment. T

Sustainable Fuels Loaded up in Game Area Airports, With Carbon Credits On Tap

Avfuel Network has announced the requisition of sustainable aviation fuel for those airports operated in conjunction with their fuel network in close proximity to the game's SoFi Stadium. Those customers looking to defray the environmental impact of their flight to the Bowl can refuel at Million Air Burbank (KBUR), ACI Jet-Orange County (KSNA) and Castle & Cooke Aviation (KVNY). Should operators desire, a carbon offset program adds an additional per-gallon fee to purchase carbon credits that invest in green projects. Each credit purchased is said to offset nearly 100 gallons of jet fuel.

For the 4th time in a row, AeroGuard Flight Training Center has been given the AMT Diamond Award program for 2021. Their win of the FAA Award of Excellence recognizes its devotion to aircraft maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance. In the post-pandemic recovery era, AeroGuard points to their efforts at scaling up and expanding student loads while maintaining the same level of safety. The Diamond Award requires that 100% of all mechanics, repair staff and technicians earn an AMT Certificate of Training in 2021, in addition to surpassing FAA regulatory requirements with additional education in specialized components.

H3 Dynamics has continued their quest to automate drone upkeep, releasing additional infrastructure geared at supporting drone fleet stations far away from human settlements at remote solar farms. Commercial Spaceflight Federation Joins Hands with Grace Smith Fellowship to Promote Student Internships

The Commercial Spaceflight Federation and Patti Grace Smith Fellowship program announced the expansion of a program to bring three students to Washington, D.C., in order for them to participate in the 24th Commercial Space Transportation Conference. The Fellowship bears the name of Smith, a trailblazer for women like her, who passed away in 2016 after a long career in expanding access to aviation. The Fellowship honors her work by "encouraging young women of color to pursue aerospace and STEM careers," by selecting students among those from the Fellowship's fellows and applicants.

First Flight In The Accident Airplane Since He Was Involved In A Prior Mishap

On January 14, 2022, about 1248 mountain standard time, an experimental amateur-built Zenith 750 airplane, N145WT, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Spanish Fork, Utah. The pilot was seriously injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that this was his first flight in the accident airplane since he was involved in a prior mishap that took place in the same airplane about 18 months earlier.
