Buyers and investors of stock in the Icon Aircraft company have continued their battle in the backdrop of an investigation being undertaken by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). American investors have alleged that the dominant stakeholders from China used their purchase of a portion of the company in order to illegally transfer its technology to china. The Chinese investors maintain that they are only carrying out a regular tech licensing agreement, a belief repeated by the manufacturer at their direction.

A China Airlines 747-400F made a show out of its taxiing this past week, as the Flight CI5240 appeared to cut a corner a little too wide, passing its left wing over and through a number of waiting baggage carts. The plane's engine number 1 sucked in a cart, and the left side of the aircraft was damaged. Engines 1 and 2, the gear door, and the engine cowling all came out the other side of the turn worse for wear. The Chicago O'Hare had received more than 3 inches of snow on the night of the incident, with some portions of Illinois seeing more than 10 inches

Trial Set to Begin in March for Multiple Counts of Wire Fraud

Mark Forkner has the good fortune to see a couple of his charges dismissed as he moves towards trial for his part in the Boeing 737 Max debacle. He stands accused of withholding information from the FAA's Aircraft Evaluation Group regarding the systems on the airplane, ostensibly in an effort to maintain the plane's development timetable. The dismissed charges pertained to allegations that Forkner defrauded the FAA by making and using materially false writing concerning an aircraft part in violation of federal law.

Embraer has closed discussions with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) after a requested reduction in the previously contracted production run for the manufacturer's multi-mission KC-390 aircraft. On January 30, 2022, about 1710 mountain standard time, an unregistered Christavia MK1 airplane sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Oral, South Dakota. Security Notice (SECNOT) A SECNOT is a request originated by the Air Traffic Security Coordinator (ATSC) for an extensive communications search for aircraft involved, or suspected of being involved, in a security violation, or are considered a security risk. A SECNOT will include the aircraft identification, search area, and expiration time. The search area, as defined by the ATSC, could be a single airport, multiple airports, a radius of an airport or fix, or a route of flight.
