Classic Do-All Cross Country Aircraft Returns for 2022

There's good news for would-be Cessna buyers dog-earing the classifieds in search of the perfect Skylane 182T - It's back in production for the first time in over 5 years. The high-wing, utilitarian Skylane has long been a favorite of the Cessna lineup, and its newest guise adds all the modern flight deck accouterments with the power boost of a 235hp Turbocharged flat-six. The 182 has a storied history with the company, despite its production line containing a few fits and starts since its initial release in 1956. While the 182T is back, it largely follows what made previous generations so successful, with only a few small improvements and quality of life additions.

Buyers and investors of stock in the Icon Aircraft company have continued their battle in the backdrop of an investigation being undertaken by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). Pilot Completed Two Touch And Go Landings On The Private Airstrip, Then Departed To The South

On January 30, 2022, about 1710 mountain standard time, an unregistered Christavia MK1 airplane sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Oral, South Dakota. The uncertificated pilot sustained fatal injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot’s friend, the pilot texted him to ask if he could taxi the airplane on the private airstrip, which was located at the friend’s residence. AD 2022-03-01 Requires Removing The Fuel Tank Connection Hoses From Service...

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH (DAI) Model DA 42, DA 42 M-NG, and DA 42 NG airplanes. This AD was prompted by mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as dissolved or detached fuel tank hose material entering the main fuel tank chambers, which could result in restricted fuel flow with consequent fuel starvation.
