Airborne 02.09.22: WWII Bomber Tour, French Elixir, Airline Merger

The History Restored Tour will see the combination of 2 classic bombers, with the addition of the EAA's B-25, Berlin Express, alongside the B-29 Doc. The aircraft will make a series of stops in Florida and Louisiana throughout the spring as they kick off the 2022 tour seasons. The tour will make an appearance at the Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo at Lakeland, Florida in April, along with opportunities for ride-alongs and flights at other events. NASA Awards Lockheed Martin Mars Ascent Vehicle Contract

Sample Mission Will Launch Earthbound Samples from Martian Surface to Spacecraft Above

Lockheed is the lucky winner of the contract to design, develop, and produce the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV), which will be a key part of the Mars Sample Return mission currently in the works with NASA and the EASA. The mission hopes to deliver rock and soil samples collected on the Martian surface back to Earth, a tall order that requires a complex series of spacecraft and landers. Under the contract, Lockheed will provide multiple MAV test units with a prototype flight unit. Their purview includes designing, developing, testing, and evaluating the integrated MAV system, and designing and developing of the rocket’s ground support equipment. T

Solar Farm Drone Monitoring System Updated

New Integration with Sitemark Systems Comes to H3's Drone in a Box 

H3 Dynamics has continued their quest to automate drone upkeep, releasing additional infrastructure geared at supporting drone fleet stations far away from human settlements at remote solar farms. The new partnership fuses their H3 Dynamics Drone-in-a-Box robots with the visual/thermal analytics from Sitemark in order to automate and scale up remote monitoring operations at large solar farm installations. So far, Sitemark has been deployed for inspection over 30,000 hectares of solar parks in 35 countries.
