V Aircraft Engines V300T--The Smoothest Piston Engine
Ever?
Imagine that someone offered you a new engine for your GA
bird... one that would burn MoGas as well as AvGas, run as smooth
as a turbine, and operate more quietly than anything in it's
class... and oh yes, offer significant fuel savings over an
equivalent powerplant (on the order of 25%).
Would you want it? Heck, Yes!
Would you believe they had one? Heck no... until now.
Minnesota's Green Lake has finally given up one of her most
closely-held secrets -- one that's 46-years old. Monday, a trio of
anglers frustrated because nothing was biting, stuck an underwater
camera in the lake near Willmar (MN). What they saw astounded
them.
Delta Airlines wants its high-paid pilots to give up $1 billion
a year in concessions, otherwise threatening to file for Chapter 11
bankruptcy, according to a national newspaper.
When 25-year old Jonathan Ramsey Shockley started having serious
engine trouble Sunday, he did what he's supposed to do.
"I went through the emergency procedures," he told the New York
Post. "It was just that there was not much time. The engine was
sputtering, and I just didn't want to hit anybody."
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) wants the
European Union (EU) to create a unified safety oversight and
regulatory system for operations of general aviation aircraft
registered in Europe.
"My fish! They stole my fish!"
Those angry words from Ray Bolano in a phone call to his daughter,
Barbara Kagerer, after returning to Seattle from an Alaskan fishing
trip.
When the people who run the Carolinas Aviation Museum decided
they needed a new hangar, they spent $140,000 on the components.
Now, they need another $100,000 before they put them all together
next Spring. When they do, they'll have one big facility.
We're all for getting there early, but this is incredible: Last
Thursday marked opening day for EAA’s Camp Scholler as the
first campers began registering for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2004.
There were even some campers who lined up the night before at 9
p.m. EAA camper registration staff reported being greeted by a line
of eager campers upon arrival at 0630 Thursday morning. There was a
steady stream of campers throughout the day.
New NASA Imagining System Allows View From All Sides
NASA-funded scientists have created the first three- dimensional
(3-D) view of massive solar eruptions called Coronal Mass Ejections
(CMEs). The result is critical for a complete understanding of
CMEs, which, when directed at Earth, may disrupt radio
communications, satellites and power systems.
American, Indian Officials To Sign Open Skies Agreement
The US very much wants to sign an aviation deal with India.

Stretched thin by priority work to prepare the B-17 Fuddy Duddy
for the Salute to Veterans Tour and bring home EAA's B-17 Aluminum
Overcast, EAA's two-time FAA Diamond Award-winning aircraft
maintenance team doesn't have time to reinstall the overhauled
engine on EAA's Cessna 210, Photo 1. This leaves EAA's top-notch
photographers without a way to capture the high-quality air-to-air
photographs used in EAA Publications. The hope is EAAers who own a
Cessna 210 would be able to donate its use to EAA during the
convention.
Raytheon Canada Limited has been selected to provide the
FIRSTplus air traffic control training simulator to the Homestead
campus of Miami Dade College's (MDC) School of Aviation in

For Developing Breakthrough Air, Space Technologies
NASA has honored aerospace industry/US government teams headed
by Northrop Grumman Corporation for developing technologies that
could help redefine the economics of business air travel over land
and increase the performance and payload capabilities of future
launch systems.
