Angel Flight Pilot Wins Award for 2nd Year Running

World Record Holder Bob Briggs made a name for himself over his long and impressive aviation career, obtaining 109 type ratings, joining the Flying Tigers, FedEx, and the Navy Reserve. Recently, Briggs once again won Tennessee Pilot of the Year for the second consecutive time, no small feat according to Angel Flight Mid-Atlantic. His service with the organization has led to dozens of flights over recent years, transporting seriously ill patients at no charge to and from medical treatment centers around the United States.

Aquiline Sees Increasing Adoption of Drone Flight Classes in University Catalogs

Houghton College, a Christian New York liberal arts and science school, has joined hands with Aquiline Drones to offer its UAV pilot courses in its course curriculum. For now, the deal is set to last 5 years, offering online, instructor-guided drone pilot training to future and current students. Aquiline courses will prepare students to take and pass the licensed drone pilot FAA exam. The company takes a slightly different tack to drone education, including AI assisted training sessions and adding an individual flight training component with hands-on flight experience.

The National Gay Pilots Association  celebrates its rousing success from the 2022 Winter Warm-Up & Industry Expo, back after a 2-year pause amid coronavirus restrictions around the country. The event demonstrated the aviation industry - from general aviation to commercial passenger travel - and its widespread support for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as an operating principle. The event saw record participation from official entities, bringing in a record 72 corporate exhibitions, with many holding job interviews with prospective employees. Hiring wasn't the only draw, with educational briefings and breakout sessions with topics in a range of operational consid
