Tragic: Woman Killed After Accidentally Backing Into Propeller

Taking Photos Near Active Aircraft Leads to Fatal Injury

A woman was killed on October 26 after unknowingly backing into a spinning propeller. The accident occurred shortly after 2:30 pm at Cook Airfield (K50) in Sedgwick County, Kansas. This serves as a tragic, yet powerful reminder of how important it is to remain aware while on the ramp. While several protocols are in place to prevent this kind of incident from occurring, they are not always enough.

TRU Full Flight Simulator Delivered To Queensland’s Medical Service

Royal Flying Doctor Service Receives Level D Certification

Textron affiliate TRU Simulation + Training announced that Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has approved Level D certification of the Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS Queensland Section). The RFDS Queensland Section has a large Beechcraft King Air fleet and the simulator is reconfigurable to support training for the entire fleet of its B200 and B300 aircraft. The simulator is the first of its kind in Australia and is housed in Bundaberg in a purpose-built facility next to the RFDS base.
