A US Atty, Jacqueline C. Romero, is hitting the media with the announcement that she has filed a complaint in US District Court against Michael DiCiurcio of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this complaint, the United States alleges that DiCiurcio operated drones, 'unlawfully and unsafely in the Philadelphia area between at least December 2019 to the present, in violation of Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) requirements.' The United States alleges that DiCiurcio operated flights at night, in close proximity to the William Penn Statue, PSFS Building, and the Liberty One Building. Airbus reported its 2023 financial results for fiscal year 2023, capping the year with an EBITDA of €5.8 billion on revenues of €65.4 billion. Capping off a year that saw 2,319 commercial aircraft orders, the fight against their yankee rival Boeing is Airbus' to lose. Net orders remained strong, at 2,094 aircraft to only 820 for the same span in 2022. That brought the total Airbus backlog to just under 8,600 aircraft on the commercial side. New Rule to Fold In, Standardize Falsification Standards and Rules Across Title 14

The FAA has opened another Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to the public, again seeking to flesh out the legal framework surrounding uncrewed aircraft operations. The FAA seeks to combine disparate documentation standards, requirements, and regulations into a single unified rule for drone operators whether they operate under Part 91, 107, 137, and the like. The abstract says that the FAA "proposes to amend, restructure, and consolidate the falsification regulations presently located throughout title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations."
