A multi-year contract to purchase nine S-92 helicopters, with options to acquire up to 15 more, has been signed between Sikorsky and CHC Helicopters for use in transporting offshore oil workers and for possible search and rescue operations. Deliveries of the first five new S-92 helicopters are scheduled for 2015 and the remaining four in 2016.

Rolls-Royce has been awarded a $215 million contract to produce and support LiftSystems for the F-35 Lightning II program, and F-35B jets continue to demonstrate success in operations, training and test. The unique technology of the Rolls-Royce LiftSystem provides F-35B aircraft with the capability to perform short take-offs and vertical landings (STOVL) and is currently in service with the US Marine Corps in Yuma, AZ.

Coinciding with the SATCON Satellite Communications Conference &amp; Expo held November 13-14 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, Teal Group space analysts have identified 3,164 space payloads proposed to be built and launched to earth or deep space orbits between 2013 and 2032.&nbsp; They estimate the value of these satellites and other space payloads at more than $235 billion.
