There’s a pretty intense drone video on YouTube, produced by Rotor Riot and shot in Canada... which is not all that sympathetic to all things unmanned. The pilot flies aggressively and at high-speed, in VERY close proximity along, over and below a bridge heavily populated by moving vehicles... who haven’t a clue to the potential hazard of the quad, should something go wrong. Yes... it looks cool and exciting and the pilot definitely has some skills... and it looks that way because everything went right and nothing went wrong. NASA Technology May Reduce Airframe Noise During Landing

Following an accident in 2009 which fatally injured 50 people aboard a Colgan Air airliner, the U.S. Congress put in place new requirements for airline pilots requiring a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time to become a First Officer for an airline. Previously, that lower limit was 250 hours. Military pilots can qualify for an airline position with 750 hours, and graduates of a four-year college program can qualify with 1,000 hours.

Airline industry trade organization Airlines for America (A4A) is projecting that 28.5 million passengers will travel on U.S. airlines during the 12-day Thanksgiving air-travel period, up 3 percent from 2016. The 2.38 million passengers per day expected to take to the skies represent an increase of 69,000 from the 2016 Thanksgiving travel period. Airlines are accommodating this increase in demand by adding 86,000 more seats in the marketplace each day, a 3.2 percent increase over 2016.
