Airborne-Unmanned 02.02.21: Camcopter S-100, Super Bowl TFRs, SpaceX Starship

Nordic Unmanned has acquired two Camcopter S-100 systems, with the first delivered last week and another joining it in Q2 2021. This acquisition comes after successful sulphur sniffer operations in Denmark and France. The Camcopter S-100 was also recently operated for the world’s first full-scale offshore UAV cargo delivery to the active oil and gas platform Troll A in Norway. These operations were both carried out by Nordic Unmanned and Schiebel. The FAA is working with federal, state and local law enforcement age

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (02.08.21): Fuel Remaining

Fuel Remaining

A phrase used by either pilots or controllers when relating to the fuel remaining on board until actual fuel exhaustion. When transmitting such information in response to either a controller question or pilot initiated cautionary advisory to air traffic control, pilots will state the APPROXIMATE NUMBER OF MINUTES the flight can continue with the fuel remaining. All reserve fuel SHOULD BE INCLUDED in the time stated, as should an allowance for established fuel gauge system error.
