A Decade After Women Were First Allowed To Fly In IAF
When Alice Miller demanded the Israeli Supreme Court allow her
to take the Israeli Air Force pilots' exam in 1994, she had a
meeting with then-President Ezer Weizman. The president was not
very sympathetic. "Tell me, do you see men knitting socks? Only
when pigs fly will women be pilots," he said, as quoted by the
newspaper Maariv.
World's only Yak-53 takes to the skies over California

Located in what most would consider an abandoned airport about
10 miles north of Monterey (CA), A father and son team work at
reconditioning CJ-6 Nanchang aircraft from China. Little did they
know their business would soon enter the Russian Yak market in a
very unique way. James Selby and his son James Selby, Jr. became
the new owners of the world's only Yak-53 single-seat high
performance aircraft.
Five people are reported dead in the crash of a Piper PA-32 near
the Wheeling-Ohio County Airport in West Virginia. KDKA-TV reports
the aircraft, registered to the Commercial Bag Company of Illinois,
left Normal (IL) late Sunday night and was believed to be headed
for Wheeling.
Vertical Aviation Technologies of Sanford (FL) says it's made a
major product improvement program aimed at reducing operating costs
and product complexity for Hummingbird helicopter customers
worldwide. The Hummingbird 260L kit price now includes the zero
time 260 H.P. Lycoming engine, ready for installation. "With
development costs behind us we are now ready to move forward at the
current price of $170,000 and this includes the engine", explains
Brad Clark, President of Vertical Aviation Technologies. "This is a
very complete kit, with no hidden costs, and we were able to secure
very favorable pricing for the power plant."
Promising to stop Iran from bringing its nuclear power facility
at Bushehr, Israel has reportedly completed rehearsals for another
deep air strike into the heart of the Islamic Republic.

New Generation High Performance Resin For Aerospace And
Commercial Applications
UBE America and NASA have entered into a license agreement for
NASA's PETI-330. The announcement was made by representatives of
NASA, UBE America and UBE Industries during the recent SAMPE
meeting in Long Beach (CA).
Bell Helicopter Chief Executive Officer Mike Redenbaugh Monday
announced that Air Methods Corporation has placed an order for
fifteen (15) Bell Model 427i twin-engine helicopters. According to
Aaron Todd, Chief Executive Officer of Air Methods Corporation this
order is part of the Air Methods long-term fleet expansion and
modernization program. The 427i aircraft are scheduled for delivery
beginning in late 2007. The agreement provides for a minimum
delivery of three aircraft per year.
Demonstrating cutting-edge experience in satellite navigation
dating back half a decade, ARINC Engineering Services, LLC will
join the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International
(AUVSI) next week in exhibiting recent developments in SATNAV for
unmanned vehicle operations at Farnborough International 2004.
Three flight research projects involving NASA's Dryden Flight
Research Center have been cited in NASA's annual "Turning Goals
Into Reality" awards program for their contributions toward
advancing the technology of aeronautics.

nuclear aspirations in one go."
Source: Israeli defense source speaking to the
Sunday Times of London on Israel's rehearsals for a massive
air-strike against Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant. The plant is
almost complete and is now awaiting nuclear fuel rods from Russia.
If those rods are delivered, Israel appears ready to strike with
both air and commando forces.
