Punta Gorda’s annual Florida International Air Show (FIAS) has been canceled… all thanks to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The event was originally scheduled for November 2 and 3 at Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). The 2023 FIAS performance drew in a record-breaking 45,000 viewers.

Gerald Yagen Donates $100 Million To Military Aviation Museum

Founded Museum With His Wife, Gift Includes 70 Vintage Military Aircraft

The Military Aviation Museum has been gifted an incredible $100 million donation by Gerald and Elaine Yagen, who also opened the Museum in 2008 as a private collection. The gift includes 70 vintage military aircraft that Yagen collected over the years, the property the Museum is situated on as well as the historic buildings that were relocated there, and $30 million to establish the Museum’s endowment, which is earmarked to ‘Keep Em Flying’ as the Museum says.

The B-29 Superfortress “Doc” History Restored Tour will return Tulsa International Airport (KTUL) in Oklahoma, October 18-20, 2024 for a weekend stop at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. B-29 Doc will arrive on Friday October 18, and will be available for ground and cockpit tours as well as flight experience rides throughout the weekend.

Glendon Fraser Named 2024 Frank G. Brewer Trophy Recipient

Recognition For His Dedication To Youth Programming And Outreach

The National Aeronautic Association (NAA) has announced that the 2024 Frank G. Brewer Trophy will be awarded to Lt. Col. Glendon Fraser, USAF (Ret.). He is a Senior Airline Captain, aviation program pioneer, aerospace educator, and non-profit board member. The Frank G. Brewer Trophy, established in 1943, is awarded annually to an individual, group of individuals, or organization for their significant contributions to aerospace education in the U.S. The Trophy is displayed at the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum.

NTSB Prelim: Champion 7EC

(Video) Showed The Tailwheel-Equipped Airplane Gradually Descend About A 45° Angle Into The Water

On October 7, 2024, about 1240 central daylight time, a Champion 7EC airplane, N4337C, sustained substantial damage when it was involved in an accident near Fort Worth, Texas. The pilot sustained fatal injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot’s family, the airplane was based at the Flying Oaks Airport (2TE2), Fort Worth, Texas. The purpose of the local area flight was for the pilot to depart from 2TE2, land and have lunch at an unknown location, and then return to 2TE2.
