The RIMOWA Luggage slogan for their line of high-end luggage products is, “The Luggage with the Grooves.” At EAA AirVenture 2015, our ANN crew met up with Stefan Bitterle, a public relations spokesman for the aviation operation within their company, to learn about their very special airplane. RIMOWA has created the first ever airworthy replica of a Junkers F13 airplane that could be called, “the airplane with the grooves.”

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (12.26.24): Marker Beacon

Marker Beacon An electronic navigation facility transmitting a 75 MHz vertical fan or boneshaped radiation pattern. Marker beacons are identified by their modulation frequency and keying code, and when received by compatible airborne equipment, indicate to the pilot, both aurally and visually, that he/she is passing over the facility.

Aero-News: Quote of the Day (12.26.24)

“The National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 2029 BS and the Himalayan National Park Regulations, 2036 BS, among other laws, state that the said body does not have the authority to restrict airspace above any national parks or wildlife reservations...” Source: A statement by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) countering the attempt by Sagarmatha National Park officials to consider placing a ban on commercial helicopter flights. The park, home to the famous Mount Everest, draws in upwards of 100,000 visitors per year.
