New Robinson Helicopters Include Enhanced Audio Alerts

New R66s Also Have A Headset Audio Alert For High Torque Or High Gas Temperature

Few aviation environments can make use of visual and aural warnings as readily as can a rotorcraft... starting with the all-important low-rotor (RPM) warning, to all manner of cautions that can help a pilot stay on the right side of physics. Aero-News: Quote of the Day (05.17.21)

“I loved being able to talk to one of my fellow squadron pilots as they were overhead looking for me. I couldn’t stop thinking about how much more difficult this would be if I had really ejected and sustained injuries. I can imagine how uplifting it would feel to hear one of your own squadron’s jets overhead and hear your friends’ voices on the radio.” Source: Captain Daniel Tolbert, one of the simulated downed pilots that participated in a joint Marine/JASDF Search and Rescue exercise.
