Five Beech T-6C Texan IIs Delivered To Vietnam

Historic Sale Advances U.S. Interests In Indo-Pacific Region

Textron Aviation Defense announced the delivery of five Beechcraft T-6C Texan II Integrated Training System (ITS) aircraft to the Vietnam Air Defense Air Force (ADAF) for its pilot training program at Phan Thiet Airbase. The historic delivery of the first of twelve aircraft highlights the on-time fulfillment of the inaugural Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program established between the U.S. Air Force and ADAF. The rest of the aircraft are to be delivered by mid-2025.

United Breaks Ground on $16 Million Training Center

Virginia-Based Facility Slated to Open in 2025

United Airlines recently began construction of its new $16 million, 20,000-square-foot Inflight Training Center in Fairfax County, Virginia. The facility is slated to open in 2025, providing safety and service exercises for 650 flight attendants per month. It is located near the airline’s hub at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

FAA Releases Environmental Review Draft for SpaceX

Results to Determine Approval for Additional Starship Launches

On November 20, the Federal Aviation Administration released a new draft of its SpaceX Starship environmental assessment. This analyzed the impact of up to 25 Starship and Super Heavy booster takeoffs/landings to determine whether or not the launch frequency can be increased moving forward. The update opened a public comment period that will remain accessible until January 17.

Coulson Lands New Contract With Chile For Boeing FireLiner

Expands Commitment Supporting Firefighting in South America

Coulson Aviation announced a contract with Chile’s National Forest Corporation (CONAF) that adds a Boeing 737 FireLiner to CONAF’s fleet that includes other Coulson aircraft. Addition of the FireLiner, a converted passenger aircraft designed specifically for firefighting, bolsters CONAF’s aerial firefighting fleet. It offers rapid response times and enhanced coverage across a variety of challenging terrains.

Airborne Response Gets Aerial Drone Inspection Contract

South Florida Fire And Rescue Uses Telecom Towers To Be Inspected

Safe Pro Group announced that its subsidiary, Airborne Response, has secured a purchase order for a multi-site drone inspection project to be completed in 2025 on telecommunications towers in South Florida. The order specifies that Airborne’s uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) will conduct enhanced drone-based aerial inspections and asset management services for the telecom customer. The inspections will be carried out by Skydio drones to inspect multiple radio towers used by a South Florida municipal fire & rescue department.

NTSB Final Report: Rotorsport UK LTD Cavalon

During The Three Months Before The Accident Flight, The Gyroplane Was In Maintenance And The Pilot Had Not Flown

Analysis: The sport pilot, who was also the owner of the gyroplane, had about 120 total hours of flight experience, all of which was in the accident gyroplane. During the three months before the accident flight, the gyroplane was in maintenance and the pilot had not flown. Surveillance video captured the accident sequence, and showed the aircraft in the initial climb. It  leveled off briefly before resuming its climb while displaying a significant left yaw. Shortly thereafter, the aircraft rolled to the right about 360° and impacted the runway.
