This was a glimpse into the upcoming 2024 Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show at Naval Air Station Pensacola, hosted November 1 and 2. The teams are typically kept at least 150 miles apart during air show season to extend their reach.

Bombardier announced the 100th delivery of its Challenger 3500 marking it as the fastest business jet in the super-midsize category to reach that milestone. The Challenger 3500 first entered into service in 2022 and has become Bombardier’s best-selling model, offering versatility, reliability, and the lowest operating costs in its class. History Restored Tour Makes A Weekend Visit

The B-29 “Doc” History Restored Tour will be making a visit to the Springfield-Branson National Airport (KSGF) in Missouri from November 1-3, 2024, for a weekend stop. As at the other 25 stops in the historic aircraft’s tour this year, people will be able climb up into the aircraft to tour the interior, crew compartments, and cockpit as well as book Flight Experience rides on Friday and Saturday November 2 and 3.

Shenyang Aviation Enters Agreement to Develop the Manta ANN Plus

Manta Aircraft has entered a partnership with Shenyang Aviation Industries Group to develop and certify its hybrid-electric vertical/short takeoff and landing (HeV/STOL) aircraft in China.  The six-seater aircraft, dubbed the ANN Plus, aims to enhance versatility, efficiency, and sustainability in regional air transportation.

Contract Obtained Through Criterion Solutions

Red Cat Holdings announced that it has secured a contract for an order of 12 FlightWave Edge 130 Blue systems from the Royal Australian Navy. The deal was facilitated by Criterion Solutions Pty Ltd., an Australian distributor of intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and information technology solutions.

Adventurer And Pilot Held 89 Air Sports Records

October 27th marked the 20-year anniversary of Steve Fossett’s record-setting flight in Friedrichshafen, Germany, when he flew a Zeppelin NT at 115 km/hr, beating the previous record of 92.8 km/hr. The standing record had been set in 2000 by James Dexter and Michael Kendrick. Fossett did not have a license to fly the Zeppelin until just a few weeks before his flight. His instructor and eventual copilot was Hans-Paul Stroehle. 

Two Starlink Missions Fly In The Same Day

SpaceX completed its 100th launch of 2024 on October 15, delivering the Starlink 10-10 mission’s cargo of 23 Starlink satellites into orbit after launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This was the 11th flight for the Falcon 9 first stage booster, tail number B1080. Previous missions included three to the International Space Station (ISS), one with astronauts and two Cargo Dragon flights. 

During The Impact With The Radio Tower, There Was An Explosion, And The Helicopter Fell To The Ground

On October 20, 2024, about 1951 central daylight time, a Robinson R44 helicopter, N881KE, was destroyed when it impacted a radio tower near Houston, Texas. The pilot and three passengers sustained fatal injuries. The helicopter was operated as a 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 revenue sightseeing flight. According to preliminary Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) data and recorded air traffic control communications, the helicopter departed Ellington Airport, Houston, Texas, about 1942, and flew north, then northwest about 900 ft msl.
