The P-51C Mustang previously owned by beloved actor and military aviator Jimmy Stewart recently finished up an eventful weekend at the Indiana County-Jimmy Stewart Airport (IDI) and is making its way to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. A glider with two persons on board made what was called a spectacular emergency landing in the Eisack River in Bolzano in northeastern Italy on May 10, 2025. Customs officials in Poland intercepted a shipment of five tons of aircraft tires intended for Boeing civilian aircraft in Azerbaijan, in suspected violation of European union sanctions. The seizure occurred during a routine inspection by personnel of the Lublin National Revenue Administration, or KAS, at the Koroszczyn border crossing.

The Engine Power Increased From 36% To 92% N1 During The Last Five Seconds Of Recorded Data

Analysis: The pilot and the flight instructor departed in the tandem-seat airplane for an instructional flight. Upon arriving at the destination airport, a low approach was performed. The airplane did not land, and it climbed out. During the second approach, a no-flap landing was to be performed. While on a straight-in approach about one mile from the runway, the flight instructor reported the airplane encountered a “large flock of large birds.” The flight instructor, who was not flying at the time, was looking for possible bird strike damage sustained to the wings, the engine, and the empennage.
