US Advanced Aerobatic Team Training Underway

14th FAI World Advanced Aerobatic Championships Will Take Place 15-24 Of July 2021

This past week, two of the eight Advanced Aerobatic Team pilots came to Union City, Tennessee (KUCY) for a training camp under the guidance and supervision of team coach Rob Holland (pictured). The team agreed that though the WAAC has been postponed to July 2021, training should continue and this will result in an even better prepared U.S. Advanced Team than ever.

NTSB Prelim: Quad City Challenger

...Heard The Engine "Backfire" And Then It Seemed To Lose Power

On August 2, 2020, about 1904 central daylight time, an experimental, amateur-built Quad City Challenger II Special airplane, N990SS, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Jonesboro, Louisiana. The pilot and passenger sustained serious injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Witnesses reported that the airplane flew over their house. They heard the engine "backfire" and then it seemed to lose power. The airplane entered a gliding right turn, apparently attempting to return to the airport; however, they lost sight of it when it descended below the tree line.
