RV-10 Kits To Be Produced With Final-Size Holes Drilled

RV-10 Construction Just Got A LOT Easier

Van’s Aircraft has initiated the process of phasing in the production of final-size, matched-hole RV-10 parts. Until now, all parts for the RV-10 have been produced with slightly undersized holes, which the builder must up-size with a drill and then debur prior to assembly. The company notes that, "We will be transitioning the RV-10 kit to final-sized holes, much like the RV-14 and RV-12iS kits. There is no increase in kit prices associated with this planned change.

At 100-150 Ft Above Ground Level, He Again Experienced A Partial Loss Of Engine Power

On July 17, 2020, about 1430 Pacific daylight time, an experimental RV-8 airplane, N508CM, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Grimes, California. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot stated he was conducting pattern work at a private field in preparation for a mountain flying school, when he experienced a partial loss of engine power. He landed the airplane in the field which was then examined by a certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic.
