Lee County Sheriff First to Deploy Autel Dragonfish

Enables Deputies To Deploy It From Anywhere Within 10 Seconds

Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Myers, Fla. has officially become the first law enforcement agency in the nation to own a Dragonfish, an advanced eVTOL fixed-wing drone. Developed by Autel Robotics, the Dragonfish has a unique tilt rotor design that allows it to takeoff and land vertically, enabling deputies to deploy it from anywhere within 10 seconds and stream footage back to their Real Time Intelligence Center immediately. Officials from the Sheriff’s Office said they were primarily drawn to the Dragonfish because of its two-hour flight time, which far outmatches the 20-minute flight time allotted by most of the other drones in its fleet.

Ross Aviation Acquires Stuart Jet Center

Company Expands Its East Coast Reach

Denver-based Ross Aviation has revealed their acquisition of Stuart Jet Center at Witham Field in Stuart, Florida. Stuart Jet Center’s location makes an accessible alternative to West Palm Beach airport. On their website, Stuart Jet Center mentions hangar space being large enough to accommodate aircraft as large as a Global 7500 & Gulfstream 650 class. They are known for their large 53-acre campus, 15-acre ramp, and 371,000 square feet of hangar space.

NTSB Prelim: Bombardier Inc CL-600-2B16

Requested To Circle To Runway 11 For The Longer Runway

On July 26, 2021, about 1318 Pacific daylight time, a Bombardier Inc., CL-600-2B16 airplane, N605TR, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Truckee, California. The pilot, copilot and 4 passengers were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) data and preliminary air traffic control (ATC) audio from the Federal Aviation Administration, the airplane departed Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, about 1145 and made a left turn to the south.
