Starliner Will Launch On A United Launch Alliance Atlas V Rocket From Space Launch Complex-41

NASA’s Boeing Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2) mission to the International Space Station is currently on a new schedule following issues with the ISS. OFT-2 is the second uncrewed flight for Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner spacecraft as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program. The mission is targeted to launch at 1:20 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Aug. 3. Starliner will launch on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. About 30 minutes after launch, Starliner will perform its orbital insertion burn to begin its daylong trip to the space station.

The Airplane Was Observed In A Steep Dive Towards The Ground

On July 10, 2021, about 1255 mountain standard time, a Beech C-90, turbo prop airplane, N3688P, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Wikieup, Arizona. The pilot and Air Tactical Group supervisor were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a public-use firefighting aircraft in support of the Bureau of Land Management conducting aerial reconnaissance and supervision. The airplane was on station for about 45 minutes over the area of the Cedar Basin fire. Preliminary radar data showed that the airplane had accomplished multiple orbits over the area of the fire about 2,500 ft above ground level (agl). AD 2021-13-18 Prompted By Reports Of Inadvertent Release Of The Spring Energy Of The Spring Door Opening System

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all The Boeing Company Model 737 airplanes powered by LEAP-1B engines. This AD was prompted by reports of inadvertent release of the spring energy of the spring door opening system (SDOS) actuator with a certain part number, causing injury and the potential for injury to maintenance personnel. This AD requires replacing each affected SDOS actuator with a new SDOS actuator, and verifying that new safety markers are installed in the proper locations. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective September 3, 2021.

AD 2021-13-11 Prompted By A Report That The Lower Aft Outboard Supporting Structure Of Galley 2

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain MHI RJ Aviation ULC Model CL-600-2D15 (Regional Jet Series 705) and CL-600-2D24 (Regional Jet Series 900) airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report that the lower aft outboard supporting structure of galley 2 does not meet certification requirements for all flight and/or emergency landing loads. This AD requires modifying the floor structure between certain fuselage stations. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective September 3, 2021.
