Controversial MAX Set To Return To India’s Skies

India's SpiceJet said this week it expects the Boeing 737 MAX jets in its fleet to return to service by the end of September following a settlement struck with lessor Avolon. Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the country's air safety regulator, cleared 737 MAX to fly after two and a half years of grounding. No further details on the settlement have been provided. The 737 MAX was grounded worldwide in March 2019 after two fatal crashes in five months killed 346 people. Around 175 countries have allowed the 737 MAX to return to service, with 30 airlines already restarting their MAX aircraft services. The ASTM International located in Conshohocken, Pa and the European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment in Paris have signed a memorandum of understanding. The MoU will facilitate the exchange of information and cooperation in the aviation and aerospace sectors. The goal of this agreement is to reduce the duplication of efforts in global aviation. EUROCAE Director General Christian Schleifer and ASTM International Vice President of Global Policy, Cooperation and Communications Jeff Grove signed the MoU.

Launching On Sunday, The Dragon Brings With 4,800 lbs Of Support

Allegation: Company Used Unqualified Pilots Who Did Not Complete Required Training, Testing, And Competency Checks

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a $617,100 civil penalty against Oklahoma-based Interstate Helicopters for allegedly conducting illegal charter flights. The FAA alleges that between September 2016 and April 2017, Interstate Helicopters conducted approximately 24 paid passenger-carrying flights in jet airplanes when it was only authorized to conduct flights in helicopters. The FAA further alleges the company used unqualified pilots who did not complete required training, testing, and competency checks for the 24 flights.
