The Starlite International Training Academy, South Africa’s leading helicopter training organization, has ordered an Elite Evolution S723T FNPT II - the first Elite rotary wing training simulator sold in Africa. The device will be installed at Starlite’s training academy at Mossel Bay Airfield and will be used to enhance helicopter flight training there.
Fuel-Saving Modifications Developed By Engine Maker Rolls-Royce
The WP-3D "Hurricane Hunter" aircraft of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will be the first customer to fly with the fuel-saving T56 Series 3.5 engine enhancement package developed by Rolls-Royce. The engine enhancement package has demonstrated nearly 10 per cent reduction in fuel use during recent flight testing in C-130 aircraft, also powered by Rolls-Royce T56 engines.
All Components For The Structure Now Manufactured In India
The India joint venture established between Tata Advanced Systems and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation announced recently that its S-92 helicopter cabin production in India has become 100 percent indigenous. The India operation is not only assembling cabins but also producing all parts needed for the assembly, before shipping the cabins to the U.S. for aircraft completion and customer delivery.
