Airborne 02.03.23: Daher's 2022, EAA B-17 Heads Home, The Last 747

Daher announced the delivery of 73 aircraft from the combined Kodiak and TBM lineup throughout 2022, with record orders for 100+ for delivery through 2024. The news tracks with the greater surge in single-engine turboprop interest in recent years, showing strong customer interest even in some of the more boutique options offered by Daher. The EAA’s B-17, “Aluminum Overcast”, is on its way home back to Oshkosh, Wisconsin after undergoing repairs following damage from Hurricane Ian. The aircraft sustained minor damage near Punta Gorda, Florida last year while it was parked for an inspection while out on tour. Boeing has completed production of its 1,574th and final 747.

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) held an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) themed Town Hall coinciding with its Committee meeting in Washington DC on January 18th. The event provided a chance for the burgeoning AAM community and NATA's other policy committees, like the Association’s Air Charter, GA Airport, and Safety bodies, to intermingle and discuss operational shifts introduced by the new aeronautical frontier.
