With just one day remaining, the EAA Patch Jacket Contest is
back with renewed interest, after canceling last year's event due
to a diminished number of entries.
Two F-16 Fighting Falcons, enforcing a temporary no-fly zone
around the Space Shuttle Discovery launch site at Cape Canaveral,
Fla., intercepted and escorted a small civilian aircraft from the
area July 26.
The Lake Amphibian Aircraft Company was up for auction at
AirVenture on Wednesday. The auctioneer sang out, "Three million
dollars - Who'll start the bidding at three million dollars?" No
one moved.

Airwolf Filter Corp has been awarded a Supplemental Type
Certificate (STC) from the FAA for its air-oil separator for
installation on the Cirrus SR-22 piston engine aircraft.
Airwolf Filter Corp has successfully completed all certification
testing required by the FAA for its 400 Series wet vacuum pump, a
follow-on to its 200 Series wet pump launched one year ago.
CubCrafters has introduced the 2005 TOP CUB to attendees at EAA
AIRVENTURE. TOP CUB makes its first appearance at OSHKOSH since
receiving its FAA part 23 type certification in December of
2004.
Premier Aircraft Sales, with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
and Dallas, Texas, announced that it has delivered its 200th
airplane to a retired American Airlines captain and his wife. This
milestone was reached just two years after the company was formed
in 2003.

Tiger Aircraft LLC has announced the successful completion of
the Chinese government’s Validation of Type Certificate (VTC)
for the company’s AG-5B aircraft.
Cessna began providing customers with its exclusive Garmin G1000
factory-authorized training program in June 2004. Since that time,
over 850 customers have completed the course.

The smooth, seamless appearance to aviation fans attending
AirVenture this week is a credit to the behind the scenes teamwork
of the EAA staff and volunteers.
One SMA SR305-230 powered a Cessna 182 across the Atlantic
Ocean. The pilots Fabrice Palumbo and Erik Jayet flew with
the European Squadron, 22 aircraft that banded together for a
flight to AirVenture.
U.S. Air Force aeromedical evacuation teams coordinated airlift
of blood platelets for two patients in Iraq and Afghanistan
recently. In the first mission of its kind, medics saved an Army
soldier diagnosed with a rare and rapidly growing cancer and
ensured a Jordanian coalition partner survived a flight home.
Hopes For Certified Production Aircraft by January 2006
Dick Silva of Seawind Incorporated based in Kimberton, PA
announced certification and production schedules for the Seawind
300C aircraft during a press conference at Oshkosh Airventure.
