New PS Engineering Audio Panel Gives Pilots ‘The Captain’s Voice’

Now Any Pilot Can Sound Like A Seasoned Airline Captain

ANN April 1 Special Edition

Have you ever been sitting waiting to hear “cleared for takeoff” and heard the melodious, calming tones of a veteran airline captain talking to ATC and thought “boy I wish I sounded like that on the radio.” Well now you can. On the heels of “IntelliAudio” comes the PMA 10001 from PS Engineering that will make any pilot sound like he or she is most at home in the front office of a Dreamliner.

PS Engineering president and CEO Mark Scheuer says that the new PMA 10001 uses proprietary circuitry to alter the qualities of any voice to give it the quality of an airline captain. “Audio editing software has had this kind of capability for years,” Scheuer told ANN.  “If you’ve ever looked at menu choices on that software, you’ll often see such choices as “Alien” or “Dragway Ad”. Then along came Autotune which made anyone be able to sing on key … even the most tone-deaf karaoke singer. What we’ve done is find that magic algorithm that transforms any voice into the stentorian baritone with a slight Carolina drawl that we all love to hear coming from an airliner cockpit. The results are simply amazing.”

The PMA 10001 also comes with the features you’d expect from a PS Engineering audio panel. The IntelliAudio and Bluetooth features are all standard on the new panel. “But now, you also sound really great no matter how nervous you may be about making that approach to minimums,” Scheuer said.

The PMA 10001 introduced on April 1 also has a setting for female pilots. Scheuer said that the company’s  next-generation voice synthesizer panel … the PMA 10002, will feature multiple presets for the voices of famous aviators like Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover, Sully Sullenberger, and others.

“We think this will be a lot of fun for pilots of all ages and experience levels,” Scheuer said. “Seriously, who wouldn’t want to sound like Chuck Yeager on their first solo. Flight schools have expressed a LOT of interest in this product.”

The PMA 10001 is available for immediate delivery.
