Poland Moves Forward On Apache Purchase

LOA For 96 AH-64Es Supports Polish KRUK Program

Boeing announced that Poland has signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for 96 of its AH-64E Apache combat helicopters. The Polish Ministry of National Defence announced an offset agreement with Boeing last week. That agreement is for maintenance and support of the helicopters by the Polish defense industry as well as establishing training programs and a composite laboratory. The offsets are intended to create highly skilled jobs and enhance the capabilities of the Polish defense industry which would lead to economic benefits for the entire country.

New Organization Will Provide Local Command For Aviation Units

Fort Wainwright, located in Fairbanks, Alaska, is home to two aviation regiments. This includes the 25th, which flies the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and the 52nd, which flies the CH-47 Chinook cargo helicopter. Recently, the Army’s 11th Airborne Division shared that they will be activating a new Arctic Aviation Command to facilitate improved communication between these units and upper leadership.
