Air Force Awards First Silver Star to Female Airman

Capt. Lacie Hester Praised for Shooting Down Iranian Drones

The US Air Force recently awarded a Silver Star to a female airman for the first time. This recognized Capt. Lacie Hester’s contribution to the elimination of 80 Iranian drones that were used in Iran’s invasion of Israel in April. Capt. Lacie "Sonic" Hester is an F-15E instructor weapons systems officer from the 494th Fighter Squadron.

RCAF Cancels CF-18 Hornet Demos For 2025

Transition To CF-35A Cited, Will Do Non-Aerobatic Tactical Demos Instead

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) announced it will stand down its typical CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team in 2025 due to it imminent fleet transition to the CF-35A aircraft. The RCSF released the following announcement: “The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) is on the cusp of a period of modernization not seen since the Second World War. USAFA Hotel Brings in Flight Sims for Guests

Devices Include Two F-16s and One B737-Max Representation

The US Air Force Academy is installing three flight simulators, two representing F-16 Fighting Falcons and one acting as a Boeing 737 MAX cockpit, in its guest hotels. These devices will be the first (but hopefully not the last) simulators to be offered in a US hotel. Hotel Polaris, located in the U.S. Air Force Academy campus in Colorado Springs, opened to the public on November 14.
