Skydweller Aero Completes Uncrewed Flight Testing

The Skydweller Aero US has successfully completed its uncrewed autonomous flight test campaign. This included several endurance tests, with the longest lasting 16 hours and 22.5 hours. They were launched from Skydweller Aero’s facility at Stennis International Airport (HSA) in Kiln, Mississippi.

Cebu Pacific recently finalized an order for 70 Airbus A321neo following its initial MoU in July. Pratt & Whitney announced the opening of its largest facility for manufacturing military jet engines in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, adjacent to Tinker Air Force Base. The $255 million facility boasts 845,000 square feet and is capable of meeting the demands of both U.S. and global defense users of the F135, F117, TF33, F100, and F119 engines.

International Pilots To Be Trained Through Foreign Military Sales Program

A ribbon cutting was held on September 20 for the completion of new F-35 facilities at Ebbing Air National Guard Base which shares operations at Fort Smith Regional Airport (KFSM) in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The facility will be used to provide flight training for international pilots in the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II advanced fighter aircraft.

The Wreckage Exhibited Signatures Consistent With A High Angle, Nose Down Impact

On September 13, 2024, about 0803 Alaska daylight time (AKDT), a Champion (Citabria) 7GCBC, N8CK, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Ninilchik, Alaska. The pilot and passenger were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to a family member of both occupants, the pilot and passenger departed Lowell Field Airport (00AK), Happy Valley, Alaska about 0700 to conduct a moose spotting flight.
