In a tentative four-year agreement that still requires a vote by union members, Air Canada and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) avoided a costly strike that would have affected more than 100,000 passengers per day as well as freight. Air Canada said the terms of the agreement will remain confidential until after the vote by ALPA members. The vote is anticipated to be completed over the next month.
SpaceX Accuses Agency of Regulatory Overreach and Political Motivations
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has threatened to sue the FAA over recent fines. He claims that the agency’s proposed penalties are an overreach of power and politically driven. Though the fine isn’t much of a financial hit for the multi-billion dollar company, it serves as an indirect warning for future SpaceX operations.

One of two private aircraft that launched from Apatity Airport near Murmansk in the Russian Federation with filed flight plans to Arkhangelsk was apparently mistaken for a drone and was fired upon on September 11. The airspace surrounding the Murmansk and Apatity airports had been closed under a temporary flight restriction (TFR) due to Ukrainian drone activity. The EAA recently expressed its concern about a new FAA policy that would limit Phase I testing operations. The order, 8130.2K, is expected to take effect on October 27. Order 8130.

The 16th MidWest Aviation Expo is now history... and it sure was a good show. The ANN team sent four of our top folks to the event and came away impressed with the quality of the aircraft we saw and flew and the fact that the industry is soldiering on despite the fact that MOSAIC has been oft delayed and is creating a lot of uncertainty among manufacturers and buyers. The latest version of Aeropilot’s L600 was a focal point of RT Aviation’s display at the 2024 Midwest Aviation Expo. Test flights in the aircraft were offered throug

While everyone enjoys a classic warbird, there's a certain kind of buyer who looks fondly at the "Twin Mustang" of yore, one of the USAF's last piston fighters to serve. Truthfully, the XP-82 isn't quite as simple as a conjoined Mustang, despite its looks. Originally designed to provide fighter coverage to long-ranged bomber sorties, the XP-82 (later F-82 upon adoption) was born into the waning years of prop fighters. SpaceX expressed exasperation over the state of Flight 5, noting that "Starship and Super Heavy vehicles for Flight 5 have been ready to launch sin

China Development Bank Places Mondo Order with Boeing Rival
China Development Bank Financial Leasing has announced plans to order an eye-popping 80 planes from Airbus, adding a whole fleet of A320neo aircraft to their collections in 2030 and beyond. The purchase will bolster the lessor's collection with a next-gen narrowbody airliner that's grown to embody the stable, consistent choice in a market more hit-and-miss than once expected. While Boeing has found itself mired in one embarrassing faceplant after the other, Airbus has quietly kept up its modest tempo and capitalized on consumer doubt.

Legal action alleges that ATP wrongly fired those who opted to join a lawsuit against it and explicitly stated the only way to get rehired is to withdraw from the case. Getman, Sweeney,& Dunn (GSD), the law firm representing the instructors, said they filed the lawsuit against ATP for allegedly misclassifying its CFIs as independent contractors instead of employees and failed to pay them all they were due. Work on the SportPlane Resource Guide is going well… Albeit a little bit behind schedule, because as we got into this process, things became a bit more complicated simply because we learned we could do an even better job at certain aspects of this project than we thought from the beginning. They say that the enemy of true quality is the phrase "good enough" and we want to be far more than “good enough.”

Emphasis On Growing The Future of Aviation Through Concentration on 'AFFORDABLE FLYERS'
It's been a number of years since the Latest Edition of Jim Campbell's HUGE SportPlane Resource Guide first saw the light of day. That massive 1100 page book last featured over 800 exciting sport aircraft from all over the SportPlane universe... at a time when the SportPlane industry was still a healthy, thriving enterprise (those were the days...). While there has been some consideration, off and on, toward updating the nearly 5 pound book, the near implosion of the SportPlane and kit industry over the last decade has made such a pursuit an unwieldy one... until now.
