Combined GPS Receiver-Transponder Expands Airspace Access for UAS

Avionics technology company uAvionix announced it has received Technical Standard Order (TSO) certification from the FAA for its ping200XR Mode S ADS-B transponder with integral aviation GPS. This landmark is the latest in the growing list of TSO certifications for uAvionix and the unit represents the lowest certified size, weight, and power (SWaP) product for global airspace compliance. The certification covers multiple separate TSOs for each component of the unit: transponder, ADS-B functionality, internal pressure altimeter, and integral aviation GPS.
