Gendarmerie Seizes Abandoned Aircraft Tied to Rosario Drug Syndicate

Nearly half a ton of cocaine was discovered aboard a Bolivian-registered aircraft that landed in Argentina near Rosario. The National Gendarmerie tracked the aircraft, a Cessna 206, using radar from Santa Fe’s northern region. Authorities suspect the flight was organized by a Rosario-based drug trafficking ring whose leaders have evaded arrest since the high-profile "White Harvest" operation of 2022.

B-29 Doc History Restored Tour Lands In Lawton

Doc’s Friends Keep History Alive For Future Generations

The B-29 “Doc” History Restored Tour will be making a visit to the Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport (KLAW) in Oklahoma from November 15-17, 2024, for a weekend stop. B-29 Superfortress Doc will arrive on Thursday November 14 and will be available for ground tours beginning November 15. Similar to the other 25 stops in the historic aircraft’s tour this year, visitors will be able climb up into the aircraft to tour the interior, crew compartments, and cockpit as well as book Flight Experience rides on Saturday and Sunday November 16 and 17.

EAA Scholarship Applications Open

Cover Flight Training And Collegiate-Level Programs

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 EAA Aviation Scholarships. Anyone over the age of 16 may apply, and the submission period will end March 1, 2025. The scholarships may be used to cover the expenses of flight training at any school in the U.S. or Canada, that is not part of university program.

The Federal Aviation Administration is ending its nearly five-decade-long partnership with the National Weather Service by evicting its entire Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) meteorologist staff. Weather forecasting and related accident prevention will now be a completely autonomous job. The agreement’s termination will become effective on April 20, 2025.
