Two Perish, One Injured When Plane Goes Down On Steep Rugged Hillside

A Civil Air Patrol search and rescue training flight over steep and rugged terrain ended in tragedy when the pilot and an aerial photographer were fatally injured and the copilot was severely injured. Susan Wolber, a well-known and beloved pilot based at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport (KFNL) in Loveland-Fort Collins, Colorado, was flying the Cessna 182 with copilot Randall Settergren and aerial photographer Jay Rhoten.

Air Marshall Islands Orders Two Cessna SkyCouriers

Passenger Variants Support Travel Throughout Marshall Islands

Textron announced a two-aircraft purchase agreement with Air Marshall Islands for its large utility twin-engine turboprop Cessna SkyCourier. The two passenger variant models will be used to support travel among communities in the Marshall Islands. Air Marshall Islands is owned by the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) and commercially operated. It is based in the capital city, Majuro.

The City Council of Chino, California, recently approved the purchase of a Bell 505 helicopter for its police department as it continues to expand. The cost of the helicopter will be covered by funds from the Law Enforcement Development Impact Fee and a $1 million grant allocated by Curt Hagman, San Bernardino County Supervisor.

Yukon 4-Blade Prop For Caravans, Composite RV Prop

At Oshkosh 2024, Aero-News Network’s Jim Campbell caught up with JJ Frigge, President of Hartzell Propellers who was excited to talk about several things, beginning with Hartzell’s new Yukon 4-blade propeller for the Cessna Caravan. The new prop was developed collaboratively with Wipaire, who recently received the STC for the propeller on Wipaire’s modified Cessna Caravan. The Yukon is a 110-inch carbon fiber propeller that is about 20 pounds lighter than other prop options for the Caravan.
