Damage To Las Cruces (NM) Rwy 22 Estimated At $2 Million

Back in September, we reported a story that a presidential C-32 aircraft (military version of the Boeing 757) landed at Las Cruces airport in New Mexico after being told the runways could not handle their aircraft. The damaged caused by this and a C-17 is now estimated to top $2 million.

Volcano Under Iceland Glacier Diverts Flights

The Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland has erupted under Vatnajokull glacier, the nation's largest, and the resulting ash and smoke has forced airlines worldwide to divert flights so as not to fly through the gases produced by the blast.
