First Time Event For Roswell, New Mexico

The dates have been announced for the 2025 National Championship Air Races in Roswell, New Mexico. They will be held beginning Wednesday September 10 through Sunday September 14, and all seven classes of aircraft will be competing. After announcing the selection of Roswell as the race’s next location, organizers have visited several times to meet with airport staff, emergency services, city officials, and others. New course layouts have been designed and a contract for grandstand construction has been secured.

NTSB Prelim: Piper PA28R

Airplane Impacted Terrain In A Wooded Area About 375 Ft East Of The Departure End Of Runway 20

On September 8, 2024, at about 1225 eastern daylight time, a Piper PA28R-180, N3757T, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Vergennes, Vermont. The student pilot, the flight instructor, and the two passengers were fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulation Part 91 instructional flight. The airplane had departed Windham Airport (IJD), Willimantic, Connecticut earlier that morning with a destination of the Basin Harbor Airport (B06), Vergennes, VT. Preliminary Automatic Dependent System-Broadcast (ADS-B) data revealed that after departing IJD, the airplane flew toward B06.
