Ohio Skydive Operation Delivering Relief Supplies to Tennessee

Donations Being Flown And Driven To Mountain City

Start Skydiving of Middletown, Ohio, has been flying essential relief supplies into Mountain City, Tennessee, in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

The parachute business has also been trucking supplies to the area as well. They have delivered cargo not only to their colleagues at Skydive Mountain City but the entire community that has been isolated from rescue and support.

Start Skydiving has deployed their three aircraft to fly up to 8 loads per day, and since October 3 has delivered more than 25,000 pounds of supplies.

The company’s Facebook feed lists the most needed equipment and other supplies to donate, including gas-powered chainsaws, generators, extension cords and adapters, camping lanterns of all types, headlamps, flashlights, and batteries.

Additional much-needed items are tarps, medical supplies, MREs or other lightweight and nonperishable foods, propane camping stoves, small propane bottles for lanterns and stoves, and trash bags of kitchen and contractor sizes.

Clothing, especially cold-weather gear, blankets, sleeping bags, handwarmers, camp heaters, jackets and pants are also being requested, along with cleaning supplies such as soap, sponges, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, and plastic
