37 Exhibitors, 140+ Speakers Offer Enlightening Week of VTOL Theory

The program for the Vertical Flight Society's Transformative Vertical Flight symposium has been published, giving structure to the 3-day program. The schedule will include 3 main events, including the 6th Decennial VFS Aeromechanics Specialists' Conference, the 11th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium, and the Short Course on Electric VTOL Design. The Aeromechanics Conference will sport more than 70 invited speakers, all focused on various mechanics and technical challenges surrounding vertical flight.

Nielsen Whitehorse International Due for Expansion, Revamped Facilities

Canadian Minister of Transport Pablo Rodriguez announced an investment of up to $186.2 million under the National Trade Corridors Fund for a project that includes major upgrades at the Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport. The airport was selected due to its position in the greater Yukon, a vital hub for frontier-bound cargo, medical support, and passenger travel. The 4 primary tasks will see Whitehorse upgraded with an improved parallel runway, a reconstructed primary runway, a new rotary-wing operations center, and an entirely new air maintenance facility.

About 3,200 Ft MSL (Approximately 2,000 Above Ground Level), The Engine Suddenly Lost All Power Without Any Warning

On January 3, 2024, about 1226 central standard time, a Mooney M20K, N231GG, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Tullahoma, Tennessee. The commercial pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that he had recently purchased the airplane and the accident flight was his first flight in the airplane.
