Lowest Numbers Of Tarmac Delays On Record In 2014

Only 30 Domestic Flights Experienced Delays Of More Than Three Hours

In calendar year 2014, airlines reported the lowest number of tarmac delays longer than three hours on record, according to the DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics.  According to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report, in 2014 there were 30 domestic flights with tarmac delays longer than three hours and nine international flights with tarmac delays longer than four hours at U.S. airports.  There were no long domestic or international tarmac delays in December 2014.

South Korea’s Asiana Airlines has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Airbus for the purchase of 25 A321neo single aisle aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet modernization program. Seating 180 passengers in a two class layout, the new aircraft will be operated on the carrier’s regional services, as well as on selected domestic routes.
