In a move unlikely to surprise anyone, on Thursday executives at
American Airlines rejected a contract proposal offered by its
pilots unionm, saying it would have increased the carrier's costs
by over $1.4 billion a year.
Dubai-based carrier Emirates received its 100th passenger
aircraft recently, a long-range Boeing 777-300ER which brings its
all wide-body fleet to a total of 111 aircraft, including 11
freighters.
