Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward announced Tuesday that Southwest Airlines would begin service at Pensacola International Airport (PNS) later this year. Pensacola International is currently served by AirTran Airways, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southwest. "By the end of the year, we will see Southwest jets landing at Pensacola International Airport," said Mayor Hayward.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) has approved a Final Commitment for a $45.5 million loan guarantee to VRG Linhas Aereas S.A. (GOL), a Brazilian airline. The Ex-Im Bank supported financing will support the export of engine maintenance services by Delta TechOps (Delta), a subsidiary of Delta Airlines, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
