NBAA Takes Issue with Charter Changes

Lobbyist Stresses any Regulatory Shakeup Should Be Rooted in Actual Data, Logic

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has taken issue with the handling of the Part 135 rulemaking that seems to be in the works, stressing their belief that any changes should rest entirely on actual data instead of supposition and allegation. “Safety is the top priority for business aviation, and our sector has an impeccable record of leadership in working with government agencies and other stakeholders in the development of regulations that address safety concerns and put operational needs first. The FAA’s announcement suggests an intention to sidestep both considerations,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

AeroVironment Demos JUMP 20 on Jet-A

Heavy Fuel Operations Borne Out for Multi-Mission Uncrewed Aircraft

AeroVironment pulled off a demonstration of its JUMP 20 uncrewed aircraft system using a heavy fuel engine, expanding the capabilities and interoperability of the platform in the world of military logistics. The firm successfully bore out the utility of the JUMP 20 with the 'heavy fuel' engine, a more omnivorous little mill that allows the aircraft to run on a wider range of fuels. The JUMP 20 now sports more than 13 hours of endurance and an operational range of 115 miles thanks to its purpose-built engine. The new powerplant saves weight and requires fewer overhauls throughout its lifespan, while still providing easy ignition and auto-start capability for simple operations.

Research Facility To Aid in Defense, Space Engineering

Embry?Riddle Aeronautical University and Boeing announced a new partnership that will see the manufacturer move into a new "center of excellence" colocated within the school's research park. The news was well-received by locals, since it will reportedly bring about 400 white collar jobs to the Volusia County, Florida, in 2026. Boeing will be leasing the entire Cici and Hyatt Brown Center for Aerospace Technology, and use the location as an engineering and design hub for a range of projects for their defense, space, and security programs. In this interview we find out that what’s old can also be new. The Cessna 172 is one of the most popular airplanes in general aviation. However if you want to buy a new one, the price can be a factor that scares you away. Premier aircraft sales has found a way to take older model Cessna 172’s and not only bring them up to date but, in some aspects, make them better than a factory new version of the airpl
