EASA Approves MT-Propeller For Cessna 208 Blackhawk

Grants STC For Installation Of QFJ 5-Blade MTV-27 Prop

EASA has granted an STC to MT-Propeller (EASA STC 10058942) for the installation of the company's next generation 5-blade Quiet Fan Jet scimitar composite propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR245-55a on the Cessna 208, 208B Blackhawk.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht said the installation of the 5-blade QFJ Propeller features almost vibration-free propeller operations; bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades; unlimited blade life, and; significant inside and outside noise reductions.

He said the prop's increased ground clearance means less blade tip erosion, and the blades are FOD-repairable.

The company says that the prop reduces takeoff distance by 200 feet and adds three knots to the airplane's cruise speed.

With optional rpm reduction to 1950 rpm, all models comply with the strict German noise regulations 2010– "Landeplatz-Lärmschutz-Verordnung" for unrestricted airport operation in Germany and other European Countries.

An FAA STC is pending.
