Aero-News: Quote of the Day (10.02.06)

Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"That's one small step for 'a' man, one giant leap for mankind."

Source: Neil Armstrong, upon first stepping on the Moon July 20, 1969. An Australian computer expert has analyzed the voice audio and concluded that Armstrong actually did say "a man" which of course made the famous line both gramatically correct and more dramatic. Armstrong has always maintained that's what he planned to say from the surface of the Moon. He told the Associated Press "I have reviewed the data and [the] analysis of it, and I find the technology interesting and useful. I also find his conclusion persuasive. Persuasive is the appropriate word."
