White Plains Regional Forum Proclaimed A Great Success

Civic Leaders Kept Abreast of What BizAv Brings to Communities

The NBAA Northeast Regional Forum was held on June 12 at Westchester County Airport (KHPN) in White Plains, New York.

With a sold-out exhibit floor, good weather for the static display of the latest aircraft, and numerous informative panel discussion sessions, the well-attended event was considered highly successful. Local and state civic officials and leaders got an intimate look at business aviation’s integral role in the community, with the forum featuring community connectivity, enhanced job development and company productivity, and humanitarian benefits in the region as well.

Business (and general) aviation supports all those benefits and even more as the industry’s mission to attain net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 continues to be bolstered by the organizations that support the new “Climbing. Fast.” advocacy initiative. Launched at NBAA’s BACE in October 2023 in Las Vegas, Climbing. Fast. seeks to develop industry and public awareness and engagement around business aviation’s sustainability commitments.

Another highlight at the forum was the announcement of the first graduating class of 5 students from the Barrington Irving Technical Training School. Irving founded the school in Miami in 2022 and then expanded to a second facility in Mt. Vernon, New York, in Westchester County. The School teaches students of diverse backgrounds the hands-on technical skills to succeed in aviation and other industries. The five graduates have all secured jobs at FBOs in the area.

NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen said of the forum, “The White Plains forum showcased the products, people and passion that characterize our dynamic industry. We clearly can see the same excitement and momentum as we prepare for what promises to be an outstanding NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas.” That show is scheduled for October 22-24.
